Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the services offered by CK Langkawi, a company incorporated under the laws of Malaysia. These terms set forth the legally binding terms for your use of our services through our website www.cklangkawi.my.

1. Driver’s Age and Licence Requirements

The renter and additional drivers must be between 20 and 65 years old for normal vehicles and 22 to 65 years old for luxury vehicles, and must possess a valid national or international driving license. Probationary license holders will not be accepted.

2. Rental Period

The renter agrees to rent the vehicle for the period specified in the booking confirmation. CK Langkawi may agree to extend the rental period at its discretion. If the vehicle is not returned on time, the renter will either be charged the contracted rate for the additional time or will be liable for all costs incurred by CK Langkawi in repossessing the vehicle. The renter agrees to return the vehicle, along with all tires, tools, accessories, and equipment, to the agreed location.

2.1 CK Langkawi Responsibilities

CK Langkawi will ensure that the vehicle is maintained according to the manufacturer’s standards and is roadworthy at the start of the rental period. We also provide valid insurance coverage and a replacement vehicle in case of an accident or breakdown.

2.2 Renter’s Responsibilities

The renter is responsible for keeping the vehicle and keys in good condition during the rental period. The renter must lock the vehicle when not in use and will incur a charge for lost keys. Any damage to the vehicle, whether accidental or not, is the renter’s responsibility. Unauthorized repairs or alterations to the vehicle are not allowed.

The renter must notify CK Langkawi immediately if they are aware of any defects or damages. Damage includes loss or damage to glass, tires, rims, vehicle lights, or interior accessories. The renter must ensure that the vehicle is returned in a clean condition; if excessive cleaning is required, the renter will incur additional charges.

3. Rates

Rates are based on a minimum rental period of 24 hours. Additional hours will be charged at one-fifth of the daily rate for up to a maximum of 5 hours. The rates include unlimited mileage, maintenance, insurance cover for third-party property damage, and third-party bodily injuries. Rates are subject to change without prior notice.

4. Mode of Payment

CK Langkawi accepts credit and debit cards (Visa and MasterCard) for online bookings. The credit card must be in the renter’s name, and third-party cards are not accepted. Cash transactions are not allowed.

5. Cancellations and Refund Policy

If the renter cancels the reservation more than a week before the rental starts, they will receive a full refund. If the cancellation is made between 3 and 7 days before the rental start, a 50% refund will apply. Cancellations within 48 hours of the rental start date are non-refundable.

6. Extension of Rental and Penalty

If the renter wishes to extend the rental or change pickup or return locations, they must notify CK Langkawi immediately. Failure to do so may result in penalties or additional charges.

7. Other Charges

The renter shall pay for any additional charges, including late return charges, refueling costs, parking fines, traffic violations, and vehicle damage. If the vehicle is damaged and cannot be rented out, the renter will also be responsible for loss-of-income charges.

8. Vehicle Usage Conditions

The vehicle must only be driven by the renter or authorized drivers named in the rental agreement. It is prohibited to use the vehicle for illegal activities, off-road driving, racing, or towing. The vehicle should not be overloaded, and any odors or damage to the interior will incur charges.

9. Termination of Agreement

The rental agreement may be terminated if the renter fails to make payments, violates the terms, or engages in illegal activities. CK Langkawi may repossess the vehicle if the renter breaches the agreement.

10. Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Malaysia, and any disputes will be handled by the Malaysian courts. If any provision of this agreement becomes invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
